What Will I Learn?

Keeping children safe online is about making sure you have the information and skills you need to understand how children use the internet and how to respond to risks they may face online.

Target Group

This New course is targeted at multi-agency safeguarding professionals working with children, young people and their families.

The course will highlight the risks, vulnerabilities and dangers associated with internet use.  Specifically designed for and targeted at;  Police, Teachers, Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Healthcare professionals, Housing Associations, Youth Services, Community Groups and others working in an environment where individuals are likely to find themselves at risk.


Safety Net training is designed to equip multi-agency safeguarding professionals with knowledge, skills and resources to confidently keep children safe online.

The training will provide a unique solution to enhance active engagement between Practitioners, children and parents, to raise awareness of online dangers and help children stay safe when they’re using the Internet, social networks, apps, games and more.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates will understand;

  • the risks and issues associated with children and young people being online;
  • the technologies, games, websites and apps children and young people use and why;
  • the dangers of sharing personal information when chatting online and through social media;
  • what sexting is, when it can become a criminal offence, how it appears on future checks and how it can lead to blackmail and or exploitation;
  • online grooming and how to recognise methods used by groomers to sexually/criminally exploit and or radicalise;
  • the risks involved when playing online games with others and the importance of age limit restrictions;
  • how to access advice and support to be able to better protect children and support parents to help keep children safer online;
