This new, exciting multi-agency training course is targeted at multi-agency professionals working directly with children and their families.

 

The training will assist professionals in understanding their legal responsibilities in relation to the Prevent Duty; their individual roles; agency responsibilities; and in recognising and understanding the complex environment in tackling Right Wing Extremism and The Far Right.

 

The training is aimed at professionals with responsibility for identifying and responding to children’s and adult’s needs by enhancing practitioner’s awareness of the risks posed by Right Wing Extremism and Far Right ideology.  It will provide delegates with ‘real life’ experiences and case studies, along with up to date information on groups, signs and symbols, emerging trends, recruitment methods and counter narratives.

 

Target Group: Level 3/Health 3

This course should be attended by multi-agency professionals working directly with children and their families, including Education, Youth Service, Children’s and Adult’s Social Care Social Workers, Police, Probation, Psychology and Housing Services.

 

Aim:

This one day training session offers agencies an opportunity to explore the narrative behind Right Wing Extremism and The Far Right; share learning, understand the need for Information Sharing and the challenges faced by partners in dealing with Prevent related concerns, including the practical application of the Prevent Duty.

 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand Right Wing Extremism and Far Right ideology and recruitment methods;
  • Recognise the differences between ‘generic’ racist attitudes and Right Wing Extremism/Far Right views and behaviour;
  • Understand the changing landscape of Right Wing Extremism/ The Far Right;
  • Understand their obligation in relation to Information Sharing;
  • Identifying their roles and responsibilities in relation to partnership working;
  • Develop counter narratives to these views when working with children, young people and adults;
  • Understand referral pathways, sign posting and identify the support available.
