This New Multi-Agency training course is targeted at any professionals working within safeguarding such as; Children’s Social Workers, Education professionals and Youth and Family Support Workers who are likely to come into contact with either a child or family who may be foreign nationals or indeed UK families who may be vulnerable by virtue of poverty, mental health, addictions, domestic abuse and any other safeguarding issues.
The aim of the course is to provide professionals with a better understanding of the scale of modern slavery and human trafficking both within the UK and worldwide and raise their awareness and knowledge of Modern Slavery.
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Understand their role within the referral process and how to use the National Referral Mechanism
- Explain what modern slavery is and the different types that exist
- Recognise the signs/indicators of different types of modern slavery
- Respond appropriately if you identify a potential victim/case of modern slavery.
Part of the training will comprise of interactive exercises, case studies and a quiz to ensure the learning objectives are maximised.
