As part of the live virtual webinar session, you will be required to have in front of you a copy of the Safety Net parental engagement resource. The resource is vital to the training and an essential tool to support you effectively in your work to enhance parent-carer engagement. The book will be posted out by Skips Safety Net directly to the address you enter when registering.


Safety Net is a unique educational programme designed to provide multi-agency safeguarding professionals with the tools and confidence to engage children and parents, in a concerted effort to encourage safe online practice in the home. The training webinar aims to raise awareness of the unseen dangers and embeds the understanding needed to help young people stay safe when they are using the Internet, social media and playing online games.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the hard-hitting webinar session, frontline practitioners will have gained an increased awareness to the real and emerging dangers of the Internet, how to protect professional reputational risk when using digital communication and how to cascade the learning to colleagues and families on;

  • An understanding of the hidden danger’s children face when using the Internet, social media and playing online games.
  • An understanding of perpetrators and the models used for online grooming, to include sexting, unintentional victims, CSE, gangs, fake news, radicalisation and bullying.
  • Interventions – models used to keep children safe.
  • Understand the role parents can play to keep children safe.
